Privacy Policy

Bounce processes audio, images, and video locally on your Mac. Your media is not sent to analytics services.

Optional privacy-preserving analytics

With your permission, Bounce sends a limited set of product-usage and reliability events to PostHog US Cloud. These events help us understand whether people successfully create, export, and share Bounces and where the app fails.

Bounce may collect:

  • App version, operating-system family, and processor architecture
  • Whether audio and visual creation steps are completed
  • General choices such as visual source category, layout, framing, reaction, and filter type
  • Render duration, output-duration bucket, alignment result, and normalized failure stage
  • Whether a Bounce is exported, made into a Spotify Canvas, or sent to a phone

Bounce does not send the following to PostHog:

  • Audio, images, or video
  • File contents, paths, or filenames
  • Track or artist names
  • Unsplash or Pexels search terms
  • Email addresses, account details, advertising identifiers, or precise location

Analytics use a randomly generated installation identifier stored locally by Bounce. Events do not create PostHog person profiles, and IP-based geolocation is disabled.

Analytics are used only for product analytics and reliability. They are not used for advertising, cross-app tracking, or the creation of advertising profiles.

You can enable or disable analytics at any time from Bounce → Share Anonymous Analytics. Disabling analytics stops future analytics collection.

PostHog processes this data in its US Cloud. Bounce retains analytics events for up to 12 months for product analytics and reliability, then deletes them from PostHog. See PostHog's privacy policy.

Stock media searches

If you choose to search for stock media, your search terms are sent to the selected stock-media provider so it can return results. Bounce does not send those search terms to PostHog.

Optional sharing

If you choose a sharing feature that uploads a finished video to a hosted service, Bounce will disclose that before the upload occurs. Your media is not uploaded merely by creating or previewing a Bounce.

Your choices and requests

If you have questions about Bounce's privacy practices or want to request deletion of analytics data associated with your installation identifier, submit a request through the Bounce support form. We may ask for the installation identifier stored in Bounce's local app data so we can identify the corresponding analytics events.
